Protecting ourselves from this virus and any other new potential pandemic diseases depends primarily on how well we maintain our own immune system. Remember, our immune system is affected by every other system in our body. Doing those things that you know are effective for keeping you in peak health is important at this time. Do not wait to get sick! As mentioned on the site and blog: do not wait for symptoms, treat yourself now as you would if you were fighting a cold. You know what works for you. Do it now. The natural methods you have learned will not hurt you if you are not ill and they may help you not get ill. The clinic handbook has information that you can use to review your current health status and guide you to those areas that you need to work on. Start with ppg. 442-443. Sip your broths. Do your exercises, especially for your lungs. The healthier you are the less chance any virus has of invading your body and getting a toehold. If you have a chronic health condition, stronger measures should be taken.

A note on “home remedies” -
First, let us pause and take a breath.
- Standard medicine generally looks to fight disease by finding a medicine that will destroy the enemy – in this case kill the virus.
- Natural medicine generally looks to fight disease by finding medicines that strengthen the body’s own disease fighting mechanisms so that the body can kill the virus.
Garlic may or may not kill a virus in a petri dish but it does provide nutrients that support and maintain the immune system.(1) Garlic also has a long history of protecting people in times of disease.(2)
Potato soup or other high potassium/mineral broths may not kill a virus when placed in a petri dish, however, it can give the lungs the nutrients(3) they need to breathe, and to effectively cough out a virus/mucus. Potato/potassium broths have a long history of use in the treatment of debilitating illness.
Put your 12 habits of good health into practice and they shall be as elixirs to you.

A tiny fraction of our tax dollars are funding some wonderful research in this area now, though much of it is being ignored. The majority of our tax dollars that fund health research are used in areas that benefit the pharmaceutical industry. Yes, there is a lot of money to be made in the business of our suffering. There is no money to be made from the prevention of illness.)

The complex biochemistry of garlic makes it possible for variations in processing to yield different preparations with differences in final composition and compound proportion.
